Tsun-tsun-dere, tsun-dere, tsun-tsun . . .

I’m down sick today, so let me toss a little treat out into the blogosphere before I dissolve into yet another fit of coughing.

Annoy the heck out of your friends by repeatedly singing this ditty from the trailer for the upcoming series Yozakura Quartet (starts 02nd October).

And today’s guest is . . . ?

Today, I spotted a very special cameo in Episode 11 of Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu:

Of course, nothing beats a live appearance.

“Rozen Asou” set to become Japan’s new PM

The PM-to-be’s unofficial (???) cameo in Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, episode 6

Buy! Buy! Buy!

Pull out those discount cards, lads!

In the latest version of its “In Pictures” photo gallery feature, the BBC News website takes us on a shopping tour of Tokyo’s world-famous otaku paradise, Akihabara.

Many of the featured items aren’t new, but I always get a kick out of seeing these delightful little oddities. Here’s my pick of the lot:
A USB-powered microscope
A necktie with a built-in cooling fan (also USB-powered)
Tinned pasta (best eaten with tinned bread!)

DS or PSP?

Which of the two is worthy of becoming my new toy?

I can easily afford both, but buying games for two different units will bankrupt me in short order – they’re very expensive here and I will NOT give my custom to bootleggers – so I’ll have to content myself with one of the two (for the time being).

A little help, please!

September goodies

A couple of days ago, I took delivery of the first item on my September-October shopping list: the LE version of Lucky Star Volume 3. Expect a photo-heavy review within the next week or so. [UPDATE (14 September 2008): Review published. Click here.]

Another special treat arrived with the Lucky Star video: a copy of the two-disc R1 DVD release of Miyazaki Hayao’s 2001 film Spirited Away. With a tight work deadline looming, I can’t guarantee a review for this in the very near future (although there’s a good chance I’ll write one eventually).
