Just to make things clear, Minorin deserves every ounce of loving we fanboys can squeeze out of our hearts, no arguments there. And as I said in one of my replies above, Taiga’s not even my favourite character of 2008 – it’s just that she stands out the most.

As for Shana, I don't have a firm opinion since I haven't seen the Shakugan anime and I've only read the first volume of the manga series - although my initial reaction to her was similar to my initial reaction to Taiga (i.e. irritation). @ojisan: I'd happily award the 2008 Best Ensemble Cast distinction to the Toradora! group.
